CRAPS RULES

The craps table is always the highlight of any land-based casino and rightfully so. Craps is an exciting game. Of course you won’t have the crowds around when you play at home, but never mind, the thrill’s still there.

All you need to get started is to familiarize yourself with craps terminology and a basic understanding of the craps betting system.

Craps Terminology:

Come-out roll:  A come-out roll is the first roll of each game. The game is terminated if a 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 are rolled, while a point is established if a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 are rolled.

Come bet:  Same as a pass bet (see below), except it can only be placed after the come-out roll.

Don’t come bet:  Same as a don’t pass bet (see below), but it can only be placed after the come-out roll.

Pass:  Win by rolling a point.

Don’t pass:  While you win if you roll a seven on your first roll, you lose if you roll a seven on any subsequent roll.

Natural:  A seven or eleven on your come-out roll (if you roll this it means you’ve won!).

Point:  If you don’t roll craps or a natural on your come-out roll, then you’ve rolled either a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, which now becomes your point total. You must roll this number again in order to pass (i.e. win).

Rolling craps:  Rolling a 2, 3 or 12 on your come-out roll. If you do so, you lose.

Shooter:  The thrower of the dice.
